A graduate of Pearl River Central High School, he previously practiced in Ohio and Wyoming.

Earlier this month, he opened the doors to his new clinic, Barousse Chiropractic, LLC, located at 603 West Canal in Picayune.

Barousse said his methods for providing care are “old school,” in that the extremities of a person’s body need adjusting just as much as the neck and back. His aim is to help people find and fix the cause of their pain before there’s a need for surgery.

An aspect of his “old school” approach is to avoid having someone become a long-term patient. Through his care and the patient’s continued use of stretches and exercises he teaches them, his goal is to fix the cause of the pain permanently.

His methods employ two types of care. The first is passive for the patient, by being adjusted, and treated through various chiropractic methods at his clinic. The second is active, where the patient takes an active role by continuing to utilize the stretches and exercises.

“It’s a very simple approach,” Barousse said.

At times, the cause of a person’s pain is due to leading a mostly sedentary life. Barousse said that since humans are bipedal, they are meant to move around. That’s where the exercises and stretches come into play.

Barousse Chiropractic is currently open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached by calling 601-569-0400.

The business also participates in ChiroHealthUSA, which provides discounts to cash customers. Barousse said he is in the process of being able to accept all major insurances along with Medicare and Medicaid.

By the first of next year, Barousse plans to expand his operating hours to Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
