What started as a hobby of taking pictures of his children is now a new business in Picayune.
Benjamin Stevens is not only a network engineer for NASA, he’s also a professional photographer in his free time.
His new business opened in February, and is located at 101 East Canal Street Suite 1. However, Stevens has been taking photographs professionally for the past few years. His love for the work grew each time he received praise from family and friends.
Stevens said his target audience is high school seniors, but he also takes family portraits and is willing to photograph events such as weddings and motorcycle rides.
Clients have two options when booking Stevens for a session, they can come to his studio on East Canal Street, or he can go to them to shoot at their location.
Fees vary by the location, and are listed on his website at www.stevensportrait.com. He does not charge a sitting fee, but does require a minimum purchase that varies depending on the venue.
Completed sessions are uploaded to the website once he’s edited the best shots, and clients can then order the shots they want.
He offers a variety of printing options from paper to foam to metallic.
After a typical shoot he says that he can get final prints to the customer within two weeks, which includes the editing process. Removal of blemishes and other touchup work to the shots are available as well.
Stevens also has people who can help him meet the needs of clients who request professional makeup and hair.
“I can assemble a team based on your needs,” Stevens said.
Stevens said he has all the right lenses and lighting equipment to make each session a success.
“Having the right equipment does make a difference,” Stevens said.
He can be reached by calling 800-594-1597.
