Letter to the Editor, Re: Dr. William Lewis

Dear editor,

It was with mixed emotions that I recently learned of the impending retirement of Pearl River Community College president Dr. William Lewis. It has been my distinct privilege to know Dr. Lewis as a friend and colleague for almost 20 years. During that time, I have observed his singularly outstanding leadership abilities, wisdom, and example of impeccable character. He has been a terrific ambassador for not only PRCC but also the entire community college system. I have learned so much from him over the years and wished that I could be just half as effective in my own role. Dr. Lewis is a beloved servant-leader who has well-earned his retirement but will nonetheless be sorely missed personally and professionally. Thus, my mixed emotions. PRCC is truly fortunate to have another premier professional in Dr. Adam Breerwood as its president-elect. I wish him and Dr. Lewis all the best.

Sincerely,
