Update 12-19-16, Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the escaped inmate has allegedly stolen a county vehicle from the county barn in Millard. The missing vehicle is described as a 2006 Ford F250 crew cab, dark green in color, with the words “Pearl River County” in white lettering on both sides. Ogden said the vehicle has a silver toolbox and a yellow rotating light on top of the cab. The vehicle was determined to have been taken at 6 p.m. on Saturday from the barn. The escapee is suspected to have changed clothes by now since there were clothes in the county vehicle when he took it, Ogden said.

(Original story) The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating an inmate that escaped over the weekend.
Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said the inmate has been identified as 23-year-old Roger Aaron Dollar. He is described as a white male, standing 6 feet 2 inches with brown hair, hazel eyes and a close cut beard.
Tucker said it appears as though Dollar escaped sometime before dark on Saturday evening, and was discovered missing at 10 a.m. Sunday. He is being held at the Pearl River County Jail as a state inmate on a conviction for felony eluding out of Rankin County, and has no history of violence. Tucker said it is believed that Dollar escaped by climbing over the fence and could be heading back to Rankin County.
Dollar was being held in Pearl River County because he was participating in the jail’s drug and alcohol program.
Tucker asks all Pearl River County residents to double check their vehicles, including motorcycles and four wheelers, to ensure they have not been taken.
Anyone with information concerning Dollar’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s department at 601-798-5528.
