All medical personnel in Pearl River County can pick up a free meal from Chick N Stick on Wednesday and Thursday as a show of appreciation from the Parker family.
The two day meal giveaway is being funded through donations from the Parker family, said family member Donald Hart.
Hart said he is the cousin to the recently departed Donald Parker, who served on the Picayune City Council from 2001 to 2009 and was the pastor at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He passed on April 4.
Parker’s wife, Polly, was recently discharged from Highland Community Hospital after successfully being treated for COVID-19.
Hart said that the family donated the money they would have used to hold a family reunion in honor of Donald Parker and in celebration of Polly’s recovery. That money will be used, with other donations, to pay for the meals for medical professionals in this county.
Medical professionals can pick up their meal during business hours of 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Chick N Stick, located at 910 East Canal St., Picayune.
Hart said donations to fund the meals are still be taken and can be submitted to his Paypal account, drhart1995@gmail.com or his Cash Out app account at $Dnewness.
