The suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Monday night at the Picayune location of Hardee’s was arrested Friday morning after investigators with the Picayune Police Department received a tip from a member of the community.
Lt. Rhonda Johnson said the department received that tip Friday at 8 a.m. via a call from the informant that 17-year-old Timothy Rayshaun Daniel was at the Grand Oaks Apartments in Picayune. She and other members of the department went to the area and saw Daniel standing outside one of the apartment buildings. Daniel was then taken into custody at 8:10 a.m. and arrested for two felony warrants. One of those warrants was for the armed robbery on Monday, while a second was for a commercial burglary that occurred at 508 Highway 11 North in Picayune, at 4 a.m. on Dec. 17.
The department was offering a $500 reward for information that would lead to Daniel’s arrest for the armed robbery. Johnson said the informant has received that reward as of Friday.
During the robbery, Daniel robbed a Hardee’s employee at gun point, taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the business before fleeing on foot.
