At Buy Low Auto Parts in Picayune, customers get access to higher quality parts and better service than chain stores, said owner and manager Ken Sauls.
Sauls said he’s been in the parts business since high school, starting out delivering parts.
In December of 1985, he closed his previous location in Bogalusa, La., due to slow business and moved it to Picayune. Buy Low Auto Parts has been there ever since. Today, Sauls runs the business with the help of his three sons. He said he enjoys being a business owner because he is his own boss.
Sauls said his business also carries a number of parts not found in other stores.
Other popular items at Buy Low Auto Parts include parts for farm tractors and tractor trailers.
Customers with older vehicles or farm equipment can bring in their radiators made of copper or brass to be rebuilt. Sauls said newer vehicles have radiators designed to be replaced rather than rebuilt.
Staff at Buy Low Auto Parts can also custom make hydraulic hoses.
“We’ve got a really good business here,” Sauls said.

The business is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon. It is closed on Sunday.
