A local business will donate all of the proceeds from Friday’s sales to the family of a one month old child who has already undergone five surgeries.

Dockside owner and operator Angelle Carbone said she will donate all proceeds raised during Friday’s sales to the medical expenses for Ruby Jade Anderson, a one month old daughter to one of her former employees.

Magen Carbone said that Anderson was diagnosed with a number of health complications, such as spina bifida. According to the Facebook page, Ruby’s Road to Recovery, the child was born with the spinal defect, and has also been diagnosed with a heart defect, thoracic esophageal fistula, and a heart complication called total anomalous venous pulmonary return.

So far in her short life, the child has undergone five surgeries.

Magen said the proceeds will help the family pay for the mounting medical expenses. The child is still in the hospital.

“Things are looking up, but there is no date when she will be out of the hospital,” Magen Carbone said.

As part of the effort, Dockside will offer a special meal called Ruby’s Royal Red Shrimp, which will come with seafood potatoes au gratin, corn on the cob and a dessert for $12.99.

Additionally, the business will be selling raffle tickets for a number of prizes, including a bluetooth speaker, Hot Wheels collection and a Yeti cooler to name a few. Tickets for the raffle are $3 each, or two for $5. Proceeds from the raffle will also be donated to Ruby’s medical expenses.
