Prayer event for young people today
Local churches are teaming up to provide an evening of prayer and freedom of religion via an event at Crosby Commons called Saw You at the Pole. It will take place after students attend a event at their respective schools called See You at the Pole, where students gather at their school’s flag pole to engage in prayer.
Union Baptist Church Youth Pastor Corey Bell said the event is a collaboration of his church, First Baptist Church of Picayune and Roseland Park Baptist Church to bring junior high and high school aged children together in prayer. Children attending homeschool are also welcome, Bell said. Bell added that members of other area churches are expected to participate, regardless of denomination.
The event will take place on Sept. 25, from 6:30 to 7 p.m. at Crosby Commons on Goodyear Boulevard.
During the event, participants will engage in prayer, musical worship and a sermon. Free pizza will be provided by Outfielder’s Pizza.
