One lucky winner will bring home $5,000 worth of Disney gift cards that can be used for any Disney related experience.

The drawing will be Aug. 24, and tickets are still on sale until Aug. 23, for $10 each. A time and place for the drawing will be determined as that date approaches, said Greater Picayune Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Terry Farr.

Anyone interested in purchasing multiple tickets can get them at a discount. Twelve tickets can be purchased for $100, and 30 tickets can be purchased for $250.

Farr said the money raised from this raffle will be used to provide four scholarships to students attending Pearl River Central High School and Picayune Memorial High School. Two students from each school received $1,250 as a result of last year’s raffle, which was for a new car.

Farr said these raffles were established by the Chamber’s Board of Directors as a way to give back to the community.

The winner of this raffle can use the gift cards for anything Disney related, such as a cruise, visit to a theme park or for the purchase of Disney related products from the company’s website. Farr said the goal is to sell at least 1,000 tickets.

“Sales are not going as well as I expected, so we need help from our community,” Farr said. “To those who are procrastinating, all I can say is that somebody is going to win.”

Tickets for this raffle can be purchased via the Chamber’s website, at the Chamber office during business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or by calling Farr at 601-916-2645.

The office is located at 201 Highway 11 in Picayune.
