Local businesses are sponsoring a Saints football event at Crosby Commons called Monday Night at the Park.

The free event will be held on Sept. 9, starting at 5:30 p.m. Kickoff for the game, which will entail the Saints facing off against the Texans, will be at 6:10.

Jim Brister of Coldwell Banker said the event will feature a large screen so everyone can see the game. Vendors will be on hand selling hamburgers and hotdogs along with other refreshments. Proceeds from those concession sales will benefit the Maroon Tide Booster Club. Ice chests will be allowed during the event.

At halftime, the Picayune Maroon Tide band will perform with the color guard and dance team.

Attendees are urged to bring lawn chairs .

One free raffle ticket will be provided to each person who attends, and the raffle will be for several items, including a signed Alvin Kamara football, tailgate package, $100 gift card to the NFL Shop, a Yeti cooler and a State Farm gift pack.

“I just hope we have a good turnout and fill that place out,” Brister said.
