Funeral services for Sarah Ann McCray, 67, of Picayune will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Alex Wesco, Jr. will officiate at the service.  Reverend Donald Parker is the pastor.

Sarah Ann McCray was born on February 20, 1952 to the late George W. McCray, Sr. and Myra Bell Dixon McCray in Simpson County, Mississippi (Near Silver Creek, MS). 

She was the eldest child born to this union.  She attended George W. Carver Schools in Picayune. 

Ann was baptized at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church by the late Reverend E. L. Fox at a young age. 

She was a chef at Evelyn’s Restaurant and a homemaker.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019, Sarah Ann McCray entered into a deep peaceful rest; a sleep that can only be awakened by the Eternal Master. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, George W. McCray, Sr. & Myra Bell Dixon McCray; one brother, Thomas McCray; two beloved grandchildren, Shaquille, Sai’rai; and one great-niece, Kenze White.

She leaves to mourn; her beautiful loving daughter, Addie (Florita Lowell) Blackburn; four sons, Adrian (Trina) McCray, Sr., Stephan McCray, Sr., James McCray, and Donnell Spriggs; one beloved sister, Joyce McCray; and one beloved brother, George McCray, Jr.; 8 grandchildren,  Adrian McCray, Jr., Jordan McCann, Alexandrea (Brandon) Nixon, Zack Allen, Stephan McCray, Jr., Iyana McCray, Jaycee McCray, and Terry McCray; one great-granddaughter, Riley Allen, of Arkansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. 

Interment will be in New Palestine Cemetery.
