Memorial Services for Gwendolyn Martin Johnston, age 74, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Monday, April 8, 2019, will be held Friday, April 19, 2019, at 10:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2019 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at McDonald Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Butch Martin will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, LA, she was a retired Administrative Assistant for the Orleans Parish School Board. Gwen was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, Grandma, aunt, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hortaire Stanislaus Martin and Augusta Louise Roubion Martin; her husband of 46 years, Alvin William Johnston, Sr.; and her brothers and sisters, Leon “Pete” Martin, Evelyn Martin, Elsie Martin Shephard, and Lloyd “Butch” Martin, Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Christopher Johnston and his wife Holly, and Alvin William Johnston, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne Johnston, Lance Johnston, and Regan Johnston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
