A Carriere man was arrested by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department on Monday for several violations.
Sheriff David Allison said that investigators with his department arrested 35-year-old Phillip Milner, of 19 Quick Road when they found him at a home in the 600 block of F.Z. Goss Road on April 1.
Allison said that Milner was wanted for two prior traffic violations of driving without a license and no proof of insurance.
While taking him into custody, the investigators found Milner to be in possession of a handgun positioned in his waistband, which he was not allowed to have due to his status as a convicted felon, the sheriff said.
A continued search of his person located precursor chemicals commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine, a felony amount of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor amount of Xanax.
Milner was subsequently arrested for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance and possession of Xanax, Allison said.
