Late last week, a Picayune Police Department vehicle collided with a motorcycle. No major injuries were reported.
Assistant Chief Dustin Moeller said the incident was investigated by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
MHP Trooper Chase Elkins said the collision occurred on March 23, at 8:15 p.m. when a Picayune law enforcement vehicle carrying one passenger pulled from the emergency exit of Highland Community Hospital.
As the vehicle pulled out in order to head south on Highway 11, a northbound motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Elkins said the motorcycle rider was ejected and later transported to an area hospital for treatment due to having a complaint of pain. He added that the injuries were not significant.
The driver of the Picayune Police Department vehicle and the passenger did not report significant injuries, Elkins said.
No citations were issued and no arrests were made in relation to this collision, Elkins said.
