Funeral Services for Sidney Randolph Jones, age 67, of Picayune, MS, who passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Saturday, December 1, 2018, will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 12:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Picayune, MS.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. Bradley S. Aumann will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, LA, he was a resident of Picayune, MS for the last 22 years. Sidney was a Journeyman Plumber at Touro Infirmary, New Orleans, LA for almost 30 years, after which time he worked as a union plumber. He enjoyed the sport of baseball and umpired many games in different leagues in the New Orleans area. He bowled in the Big Ten league for many years in Chalmette, LA. Sidney also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he shared with his grandson. One year for the holiday season, he was the perfect choice to play Santa at Sears Roebuck and Co. Sidney was a loving husband, father, Pop-pop, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Eugene Jones and Opal Mae Rollins Jones; his daughter, Katie Lynn Jones; and his nieces, Lori Jackson and Elizabeth Fox.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen Ann Kennedy Jones; his daughter, Heather (John) Barrere; his grandchildren, Kaden Barrere and Keegan Barrere; his sisters, Calla (Frank) Jackson and Karen Fox; his nieces, Christy (Wayne) Laird and Jennifer Fox; and his great nieces, Reagan Laird and Tatum Laird.
