Funeral Services for Dorothy Hahn Kennedy, age 91, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Picayune, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Rev. James R. Taglauer will officiate the service.

A native of New Orleans, LA, she was a Homemaker and a faithful member of St. Paul’s-Picayune, MS. Miss Dot began her working career as an employee of D. H. Holmes in the 1940s. Later she served First English Lutheran and St. Paul-First English Lutheran School in numerous valuable roles. These included: Assistant to Pastor Taglauer,  with his confirmation classes; server in the school’s lunch program; and, as Assistant in the preschool. She delighted in her family, each and every one of them. Her love was unconditional and her interest in their lives was constant. She was the beacon of her family, guiding them with her faith and her immeasurable kindness. She found joy in her gardens. Flowers were her pleasure. She was our Rose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August P. Hahn and Agnes Six Hahn; her husband of 66 years, Roger Lawrence Kennedy; her granddaughter, Katie Lynn Jones; and her brothers, August P. Hahn, Jr., and Wayne B. Hahn.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Roger (Sue) Kennedy, Dale (Rosie) Kennedy, Karen (Sidney) Jones, Daniel (Marion) Kennedy, and Erin (David) Radle; 10 grandchildren, Laura (Ken), Heather (Johnny), Emily, Matthew (Leslie), Joshua (Ashley), Jonathan (Emma), Joanna, Thomas, Sarah, and Katie Rose; 7 great grandchildren, Hannah and Caleb, Kaden and Keegan, Kylie and Luke, Sterling; her brother, Hubert Hahn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
