Admission for the fundraising event will be $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and members of the military and $2 for children 12 years and younger.

At the event, music will be played on the Pinecote Pavilion from 10 a.m. to noon. From 12:30 to 1:30, a doggie fashion show will be held where the first, second and third place winners will be awarded a gift certificate.

During the entire day, the Pearl River County SPCA will have a number of adoptable dogs on site for those attendees looking to bring home a new member of the family. A bake sale will also be held by the local SPCA to raise funds for the facility’s operations.

Customizable collars, leashes and bandannas will be available for purchase, or attendees can bring their own to have it personalized. In addition, goody bags filled with toys for dogs and cats will be available for purchase. Games and activities will include pin the tail on a picture of a dog and cat, face painting, a doggie poker run and crafts.

Vendors will be selling some refreshments such as popcorn, barbecue plates and snowballs and there will be plenty of pet friendly information, such as which plants can be poisonous to dogs and cats, proper pet/child interaction practices and proper pet care, Lowe said.

Lowe said she hopes to make the inaugural event an annual occurrence.
