Pumpkin patch at local school set
The annual pumpkin patch that has been held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School will be held again from Oct. 9 to 31.
Parent volunteer Mary Adelfio said the patch will be held Monday through Saturday during that time from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will offer a number of free activities for children during that time, such as photography props, coloring pages and games.
Families can also pick out a pumpkin to buy. Prices for the pumpkins will vary on size. Adelfio said the smallest pumpkins will be available for .50, but the larger ones can range up to $40. Gourds will also be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the sale of the pumpkins will be used to fund general operations of the school, Adelfio said.
Last year the effort raised about $3,500.
