unknown, but I predict it will have been a great game no matter who won.

What I can bet on, is the Blue Devils gave us a sample of what they will bring as the season continues into the fall.

If the Devils can grow as I expect, we can claim to have three powerhouses in our borders, ready to earn accolades in their divisions.

During my time at Pearl River Central in the 90s, there was a day when the Blue Devils were the top team in this county.

They may not have brought home a state championship during my time there, but they were undeniably good, giving the Tide a run for their money more often than not.

Now, the team is starting fresh with new leadership under Head Coach Jacob Owen, who not only played football at PRC, but also coached under the Hornets Head Coach Jay Beech.

So, no matter what school you went to in this county, you can be assured that all three local teams will give us some entertaining games this season.

And even if you didn’t graduate from one of our fine schools, or your allegiances have changed over the years, don’t forget to attend a home game or two and show support for our future leaders on and off the field.
