Magri said that while the officers were en route, they were informed that the suspect was leaving the store towards the parking lot. When the officers arrived, they saw a male suspect, later identified as Stephen Baudoin, 33, 7427 Barataria Marrero, La., walking towards a motorcycle. Magri said the officer pulled his unit in front of the motorcycle to block the vehicle in.

Officers then conducted a pat down of Baudoin, where they found several concealed items on his person that belonged to the store, Magri said. The officers met with loss prevention who said a second suspect was also involved.

An additional unit arrived and located the second suspect, later identified as Adam Kellum, 30, 4035 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, La. During initial contact with Kellum, he attempted to give the officers a false name.

Officers learned that Kellum had stolen a motorcycle helmet from the business.

Inventory of the motorcycle found a sock underneath the seat containing several bags of a white crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine, a plastic bag with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, several pieces of aluminum foil containing a brown powder substance believed to be heroin, a pack of rolling papers, two cigars and one glass pipe commonly used to inhale narcotics.

Baudoin was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of paraphernalia and shoplifting.
