A suspect has been identified and arrested in relation to his alleged involvement in last week’s hit and run accident that injured a bicyclist.
The accident occurred on May 16, and was reported by the victim. The woman reported being hit by a Jeep like vehicle while she was traveling along Highway 43 North, according to previous coverage.
She sustained severe injuries to her leg, and was transported for medical attention.
According to Picayune Police Department records, an investigation into the complaint led detectives to acquire surveillance footage from businesses along the highway. Detectives reviewed that footage, which showed a dark colored side by side off-road vehicle traveling along Highway 43 North at the time of the accident. Surveillance footage also showed the vehicle pull into a residence along Inside Road.
That investigation led to the suspect being identified as 39-year-old Bradley Morse who gave an address of 1224 Stemwood Drive upon his arrest.
Tuesday afternoon, detectives patrolled the area and were able to locate the suspect vehicle and Morse, who was pulling out of Inside Road onto Highway 43 North.
He was stopped and later arrested for leaving the scene of an accident with serious injury, the report states.
According to Mississippi Code 63-31-3 (6), riding an off-road vehicle on public roads is prohibited.
