Knowledge is meant to be shared

Throughout our lives we hope that we will not only gain extensive knowledge in the various aspects of the world, but one day be able to pass that experience on to others.
The same is true for those of us looking for knowledge. It’s our hope that we can learn from those who came before us, from those who left it behind at least.
This fact is especially true for those of us who try our hand at tasks never before attempted. For those of us who never installed flooring in a home, such a project would end with better results if we did a bit of research first. Ideally, if we knew someone who has been successful at that task they could show us potential shortcuts and pitfalls to avoid.
Nothing slows a project down like running into an unexpected problem caused by inexperience.
Today, we have access to videos prepared by those who have some knowledge with a particular task or repair project.
Videos are ideal, when shot properly. Unfortunately, YouTube is filled with tutorials that are poorly planned and therefore unwatchable.
Books are another medium through which information can be passed. If a vehicle needs repairs, we typically go to the parts store and see if a repair manual has been printed for that make and model. The same is true for any other skill or hobby for that matter. Today, the variety of ways people can share their knowledge means there’s no reason for us not to pass that expertise to others.
Part of the reason humans have been so successful on this planet is because of the sharing of knowledge and experience.
While there will always be things we will have to learn for ourselves, sharing what we do know will benefit those who come after.
