A Picayune woman was arrested earlier this month for drug violations after officers were asked to check on a woman who was sleeping in her parked car at a local convenience store.
According to reports filed with the Picayune Police Department, on Dec. 14, officers were sent to a convenience store on Highway 11 in response to a woman who was unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
The officer arrived to find Lori Suzanne Morgan, 53, of 6 Charlie Kellar Rd., in the driver’s seat asleep. Once the officer was able to wake Morgan, she became nervous at the sight of law enforcement, the report states.
Morgan was asked to exit the vehicle and then gave consent to search it, which resulted in the officer finding a plastic bag containing a brown powdery substance suspected to be heroin, an off white rock like substance suspected to be crack cocaine, 19 dosages of carisoprodol, three doses of clonazepam, a hypodermic needle, a glass pipe and a metal pipe, the report states.
Morgan was arrested for four counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia, according to the report.
