At the end of the first half, the Maroon Tide held a 39-28 lead but the Tomcats prevailed and took their first lead of the game late in the third quarter, 52-51.

“Stone got off to a good start, they had a good run in the third quarter but we’re happy to get the win,” Picayune Head Coach Kelton Thompson said. “While we’re scoring a lot more than last year, we have to figure out a way to be better on the defensive end.”

Friday’s game gave Picayune its 12th win of the season. The Tide will face Brother Martin at the Gulfport Hardwood Classic Wednesday night. Tip-off will be at 3 p.m.
