Several teams of law enforcement officers set out early Thursday morning with the intention of rounding up dozens of suspects wanted for drug related offenses as part of a several months long investigation.

According to a press release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, Thursday’s operation involved not only narcotics detectives with the local department, but also agents and officers with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, U.S. Marshals and the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Investigation techniques used to establish these cases involved controlled purchases of narcotics from the individuals that were either arrested Thursday morning, or are still wanted.
