One person has been arrested and another is being sought in relation to a stolen vehicle that was recovered in Hancock County.

Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Marc Ogden said the case began with a call from the complainant on Monday, who said that sometime between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. that day a 2001 Ford F-350 was stolen from a residence located at the 100 block of Sones Chapel Rd.,

Investigation into the case determined the vehicle was seen at a local gas station filling up, so detectives with the department viewed the surveillance footage and identified 19-year-old Jace Ladner of Hancock County as a potential suspect, Ogden said.

The vehicle was spotted traveling west on Highway 603 in Hancock County, prompting a stop by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. During that stop three people were taken into custody, but only one was arrested, said Hancock County Det. Johnny Allison. That suspect was identified as 36-year-old Jason Warren Cagle of 2346 Kiln Delisle Rd., who was arrested for receiving stolen property, Allison said.

Ogden said that Ladner is still at large, and asks for the community’s help to provide information concerning his whereabouts and who he might be associating with in Pearl River County.
