The man charged in the rape case that took place at Pearl River Community College has pleaded guilty to four sexual assault charges lodged against him.
Fifteenth District Attorney Hal Kittrell said Laderrick Scott went before the Honorable 15th District Circuit Court Judge Anthony Mozingo on Dec. 7, and entered guilty pleas for two counts of sexual battery and two counts of rape.
Those charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on Feb. 8, 2015, where Scott entered a girl’s dormitory on the PRCC campus during the night, and raped one of the female students, according to previous coverage.
Kittrell said Scott will go before Mozingo on Jan. 5, 2017 for sentencing. The district attorney said the rape conviction carries a sentence of up to life in prison for each count, and the sexual assault conviction can carry up to 30 years for each count. Kittrell said it will be up to the court to decide the severity of the sentence.
