The final suspect in an alleged armed robbery case that occurred at a local motel has been captured in Slidell.
Picayune Police Department Assistant Police Chief Jeremy Magri said 22-year-old Nija Bonhomme of 708 West St., was discovered to be in the Slidell, La., area through investigative techniques. Detectives with the Picayune Police Department alerted the Slidell Police Department, who took him into custody on Saturday at 10 p.m.
Bonhomme is currently being held in Slidell awaiting extradition back to Picayune to face two counts of armed robbery, Magri said.
The case began on May 5 when a 49-year-old man and his 19-year-old son reported to police that they had been robbed, apparently at gunpoint, by two males who had two female accomplices.
Investigation into the case led to the identification and arrest of three other suspects, a 17-year-old female on the charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, 18-year-old Latreal Abram and 18-year-old Morgan Wheeler.
Abram and Wheeler were arrested by the Pascagoula Police Department and later charged by the Picayune Police Department with two counts each of armed robbery.
