Continued investigation into three drive-by shootings that occurred last week led to the arrest of a third suspect.
Picayune Police Assistant Chief of Police Jeremy Magri said that the third suspect has been identified as 38-year-old Michael D. Peters of 201 Brookdale Dr., Magri said. He was arrested on Thursday at 8:46 p.m. at the intersection of Jackson Landing Road and Beech Street for one count of drive-by shooting and one count of shooting into a dwelling.
The case began last week when a resident living along Clarenda Street in Picayune called just before 2:30 the morning of May 16 to report residents in the household had been awoken by the sounds of five to six gunshots outside their home. Further inspection found bullet casings and bullet holes in the front of the home, previous coverage states.
That same day just before 1 p.m. residents living in a home on the 100 block of North Haugh Avenue reported gunshots being fired into their home. Bullet holes were found in the front of that home as well.
The third incident occurred the next day just before 12:12 p.m. Previous coverage states a man was standing outside a home on the 800 block of Fourth Street when he saw a vehicle pull up and a female was seen pulling a gun and pointing at the man. He fled just as the woman fired several shots at him.
No one reported injuries as a result of all three of the incidents, previous coverage states. Two suspects were taken into custody on May 17th for warrants secured in relation to the investigation. The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Aquanna L-Monique Brown of 400 N. Beech St., and 19-year-old Brittaney L. Hill of 4508 North 72nd St., Milwaukee, Wis. Brown was charged with two counts of drive-by shooting, while Hill was charged with two counts of drive-by shooting and one count of shooting into a dwelling.
Magri said Peters is believed to have been involved in the incidents that took place on Clarenda and Fourth streets.
