Check for lost pets at the shelter

Animals who may have wandered away from home for various reasons might be found at the Pearl River County SPCA.
An example of this involves a Blue Heeler found in the Pine Grove area on Sunday during the recent flood.
Martha Ford said she got a call from the Pine Grove Fire Department that day at about noon that a dog was seen roaming the area.
She went to the area and picked the dog up and brought it to the local shelter, which took it in, gave it some vaccinations and cared for it.
PRCSPCA President Maria Diamond said the owners came to pick up their missing pet on Tuesday at 8 a.m. The dog was described as a 17-year-old Blue Heeler that was deaf.
Missing animals sometimes come into the shelter, and the PRCSPCA has a section of their website where they feature these stray pets.
Diamond said anyone missing a pet in Pearl River County can check the website or stop by the shelter to see if it has been turned in.
