In order to live a healthy and active lifestyle, seniors need numerous amenities in their community tailored to their everyday needs. Here in Picayune, there are several facilities seniors can take advantage of but there is a need for more. In order to accommodate the growing senior community, the Bedford Care Centers will open a nursing home facility in Picayune sometime in August. The center will feature a total of 60 bedrooms, half of which are private while the other half are semi-private. Services will include nursing, physician care, nutrition and physical therapy.
Picayune is no stranger to meeting the needs of senior citizens.
For the past several years, the American Association of Retirement Communities has recognized Picayune as a certified retirement community.
Lisa Bean, director of long-term care operations for Bedford Care Centers, hopes the nursing home will help those seniors who need a place to call home. Their projected opening date is Aug. 17.
This new facility is a step in the right direction.
There are many seniors in the community who don’t have the support or tools necessary to live on their own. A facility like this will ensure those seniors receive the care they need.
Adding another facility in the area means more seniors will be able to receive healthcare without overburdening healthcare workers in one facility. The new facility will mean more homes to choose from, which will allow seniors to pick where they want to live and healthcare employees who can focus on their patients individual needs.
The seniors in this community deserve options.
As this community grows, the senior citizen population grows with it so it’s great to see more healthcare facilities are coming to Picayune to ensure they can live out their golden years happily.
