This summer, shoppers from across the globe will have the opportunity to purchase fashion clothing from Bre’s Clothing and Accessories in Picayune.
The store was recently handpicked by a representative from the Shoptiques website, which affords shoppers the opportunity to shop from local boutiques online.
According to the website, Shoptique is committed to enabling customers to purchase one-of-a-kind products and providing small business owners with digital solutions, which allows them to compete on a global scale.
The website features items from 1,500 boutiques, 1,000 cities and three countries, the website states.
Bre’s opened its doors in March 2014 and offers chic clothing and accessories for women and men of all shapes and sizes.
In March, Bre’s owner Ashley Breland received the news that her boutique was about to put Picayune on the fashion clothing map.
Breland said she had heard of the website but never dreamed that her store would be included.
“I’ve always thought of going online,” Breland said. “But that was years down the road.”
Breland doesn’t know who the representative is or when their visit occurred.
“They pick the best boutiques in the world,” Breland said. “I was told they were blown away by the southern hospitality and charm of myself and my employees. I still can’t grasp it. We’ve reached a new level now.”
Breland was interviewed by Shoptiques representatives by phone and online. On May 11, Breland received the news Bre’s would be included on the website.
The store’s website will include photographs of the store and list clothing available for purchase, Breland said. She will ship her clothing to New York, where Shoptiques is based, where they will be professionally photographed and featured on the website.
Once completed, Breland’s merchandise will be available for purchase. All items will be mailed from Picayune, Breland said.
“They have a high success rate,” Breland said. “In the beginning, they advertise a lot and send emails to previous Shoptique customers in order to promote our shop.”
Breland said the process takes anywhere from 30 to 60 days.
She is hoping the opportunity will bring more visitors to the hometown she loves.
“I love the people, the charm, the Southern hospitality and manners that one finds here in Picayune,” Breland said. “I want people to see that we’re a welcoming community with a good sense of fashion.”
Bre’s is located at 113 W. Canal St. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. It is closed on Sunday.
