Picayune Police were dispatched to a local pharmacy Friday at 9:23 a.m. in reference to an armed robbery, said Assistant Chief of Police Jeremy Magri.
“It appears that a male subject entered the store, approached the pharmacy area with a firearm and demanded pills,” said Magri.
The suspect allegedly held the pharmacy employee at gunpoint and received an undisclosed amount of pills, said Magri, who added that police were not releasing what type of medication the suspect demanded.
Magri said the suspect is believed to have run out of the store through the back door of the pharmacy.
The suspect is unknown at this time, and police are not yet releasing any descriptions on his appearance.
