Often, a gym is just a place for people to go in order to work out. But at Anytime Fitness in Picayune, it’s a family affair for everyone.
Katie Todd, manager of Anytime Fitness, has been managing the gym for five years. Her father, Doug Todd, along with business partner Zach Davis, owns the gym, which will be relocating from its current location on Armand Drive to Highway 11 in mid- January.
“We have been at this current location for the last 7 years. We’ve enjoyed our time here, but we’ve been looking to expand for a while and we finally found the perfect place,” Katie said.
The new gym location will double the size of the business to 6,000 square feet, compared to their current 3,000 square foot facility.
Katie added that more space means more room for their members.
“With us being family, we’re very family oriented, and they [gym members] feel like part of our family,” Katie said.
Not only will there be more space, there will also be more equipment. Katie added that while the new facility will house some current equipment, they’re going to be bringing in many new additions.
The additions include cardio equipment like treadmills and ellipticals, strength building equipment, including Pro Maxima cage training and a virtual training room with more than 200 virtual classes to select from like yoga, cycling and cardio. Not only will there be new equipment, but there will also be a new hydro massage room and ample parking space for gym members.
While the current location is set to close on January 8, gym goers can expect to lace up their exercise shoes again on January 15, when the new location is set to open.
Katie said the gym is looking forward to adding more gym family members.
The new 24 hour gym will be located at 1605 Highway 11 N. For more information, contact Katie Todd at (601) 749-3443.
