Crime Stoppers is now offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect who allegedly shot a Picayune man.
Picayune Police Department Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri said Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information that will lead to an arrest.
The case began on Oct. 15 when a woman called the department to report she found her husband on the ground with blood on his face and leg, according to previous coverage of the story.
When police arrived and spoke with the victim, who said he was shot outside his home on Kingsway Drive after exiting his vehicle just before 11:30 p.m. At that time an unknown man, described only as a young black male, demanded money, Magri said.
After the victim told the alleged gunman he had no money, he shot the victim before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction, the previous story states.
The victim was transported to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
Evidence was collected from the scene by investigators who are still working on the case, Magri said.
Information about this case can be submitted to Crime Stoppers anonymously by calling 601-799-CLUE (2583).
