A Saturday to remember in Mississippi

Published 7:00 am Tuesday, October 7, 2014

It was a magnificent weekend for Mississippi football fans.
Ole Miss and Mississippi State beat out two high-ranking football teams defying the odds and perhaps becoming two big contenders for a National Championship.
Ole Miss’ win over Alabama marked the first time in history the team beat a number one ranked team and is the first time since 1962 that the team is 5-0.
In Sunday’s AP poll, Ole Miss and Mississippi State were tied for third place.
What a proud day to be a Rebel or a Bulldog!
Social media outlets lit up with the news that both teams had knocked off two top ten teams in the same day.
The national media is still talking about the Magnolia State.
Whether you’re a football fan or not, or like one team better than the other it was still a proud moment for the state when two of its prestigious university football teams made history on the field.
It’s always nice to see Mississippi portrayed in a positive way in the national media.
The news is about two great schools with two great football teams that are destined to shake up the world of college football this year.
This is a moment to tell your grandchildren about, whether or not you were at one of the games or watched it from your living room.
We would like to wish a big Hotty Toddy and Hail State to our boys in blue and red and maroon and white.
Thanks for making this a Saturday one to remember in the great state of Mississippi.
