A one-vehicle accident on Interstate 59 Saturday night ended with the death of the driver.

Picayune Police Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri said officers and other emergency personnel were sent to the scene of the accident at about 11:43 p.m. Saturday in reference to a one-vehicle accident.

They arrived to find the vehicle driven by 19-year-old Justin Cadle of 668 Fairlawn Dr., Terrytown, La., had left the Interstate on the left side of the northbound lane and impacted a tree at about the 11 mile marker, Magri said.

Fire and EMS personnel arrived, later requesting the coroner. Magri said the coroner pronounced Cadle on the scene.

It is unclear if Cadle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, but he was not ejected, Magri said.

No other vehicles or people were involved.

Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage said Cadle’s cause of death is listed as being due to blunt force trauma.
