There are many great businesses and restaurants in the city of Picayune.
Some are well known, while others are not.
The lesser-known businesses are not necessarily unsatisfactory businesses, but owners may need a little boost when it comes to promotion and networking.
That’s when a visit to the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce is in order.
According to an article on the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives’ website, a national survey of 2,000 adults revealed that being active in a local chamber of commerce is an effective business strategy because two-thirds of consumers believe that such companies use good business practices, are reputable, care about their customers and are involved in the community.
The yearly base fee to become a chamber member is $140 for a business with fewer than 14 employees.
That’s a bargain, considering all the benefits the local chamber offers.
The Chamber’s Facebook and website is one way to promote one’s business.
Most everyone these days participates in one form of social media or the other.
When planning a trip, people will visit the city’s chamber of commerce website in order to find local attractions, accommodations, food and shopping.
The same can be said for couples planning a destination wedding.
If one is thinking about starting a business, then add becoming a chamber member to your to-do list.
It’s a cost-effective and proven method of promoting one’s business in the community.
The Picayune Item salutes the Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce and its dedication to the businesses and community members of Picayune.
