Authorities are searching for Louis Kathmann, a man who has been missing for two years.
Kathmann went missing in July of 2012. He was last seen on Holden Road near Poplarville, according to a release from the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said the department has not given up on locating Kathmann.
“We have interviewed all of his friends, family and acquaintances that we can locate to determine if anyone has knowledge of where he went and the circumstances concerning his disappearance,” Tucker said.
Just after he disappeared the department utilized every tool they had, including grid searches and a K-9 search where he was last seen, Tucker said.
Since the missing man was not located it is assumed a passerby picked him up or he kept walking to an unknown destination, Tucker said.
“We can’t rule out the possibility that he met with foul play or met with an accident,” Tucker said.
Kathmann is described as a 34-year-old white male weighing about 145 pounds, and standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall, the release states.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information on his whereabouts. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583) or the sheriff’s department at 601-795-2241.
