Picayune Smiles has a new home in Pearl River County.

Dr. Joseph Daho, along with his staff, relocated from Kirkwood Street to 100 Haydon Oaks in order to provide high-quality dental care.

The new family and cosmetic dental office opened its doors on May 4.

“We had some setbacks in the old building and it got to the point where we couldn’t advance anymore technologically or in size so we decided to move,” Daho said.

The new location is twice the size of the original building, which allows Daho to care for more patients.

He practiced dentistry at the original location under Dr. Steven Scott for five years. When Scott retired, Daho took his place.

At a young age, Daho knew he wanted to be a dentist. Originally from northern Mississippi, he graduated from Mississippi State University and attended dental school at Louisiana State University. Daho practiced dentistry in Baton Rouge, La. for five years until he decided to bring his expertise to Picayune.

“It’s been a real blessing. Picayune is a great community and we have great staff and clients,” Daho said.

The new practice offers a full-range of dental care services, including cleanings, placement and restoration of implants, extractions, same-day crowns, veneers, wisdom teeth removal, denture care and x-rays. The office accepts all insurance plans and financing options are available.

Daho and his staff are adjusting quickly to the new location.

“We’re really excited about it and enjoying the new space,” said Angele Becerra, who works at the front desk.

The new location gives the practice more visibility and allows the staff to care for more patients, Daho said.

“I consider myself a people person and I’ve always been skilled with my hands. With every one of my patients, I always make sure they feel comfortable and satisfied with the work,” he said.

The practice strives to ensure every patient leaves with a healthy smile. Daho said healthy smiles are very important to them, which is why he decided to incorporate smiles into their name and logo. Years ago, Daho and his wife came up with the name and recently worked with graphic designers to create a smile-inspired logo.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. To make an appointment, call (601) 798-1135. The office accepts same-day appointments.
