Reward raised

The Picayune Police Department and Pearl River County Crime Stoppers announced a $5,000 reward for anyone providing information on the murder of Kema Dione Keys, 38, of 606 ½ Buren Ave. The new reward is $4,000 more than the previous amount of $1,000.

Keys, the son of Picayune city councilwoman Lynn Bogan Bumpers, was found slumped over in the passenger side seat of a vehicle on Bolar Street only a few houses down from a party.  He was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Highland Community Hospital later that night. No suspect has been identified.

“We continue to diligently pursue the suspect or suspects involved in this horrendous crime,” said Picayune Police Chief Bryan Dawsey. “We have teamed up with the Pearl River County Crime Stoppers and they have agreed to raise the reward to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved.

“I am personally asking anyone with information on this crime to call Crime Stoppers at 601-799-CLUE (2583),” Dawsey said.
