Suspect found under blankets

After receiving information about a suspect and his associates being involved in narcotics activity, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Department of Corrections conducted a residence inspection, which turned up several small bags of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, said Maj. Donnie Saucier of the sheriff’s department.

Saucier said narcotics investigators and MDOC officials conducted a residence inspection on Robert Fisher, 34, at 260 McNeill Steephollow Rd. on Dec. 13, 2013, since Fisher was on probation.

When the investigators arrived, they were greeted by Jessica Gregg, 32, which investigators determined was Fisher’s girlfriend. Fisher was not home at the time of the inspection, Saucier said.

During the search by MDOC and narcotics investigators, “several baggies containing meth along with numerous empty baggies, digital scales and other paraphernalia used for the smoking of illegal narcotics were recovered from Fisher and Greggs bedroom,” Saucier said.

Investigators, Saucier said, also found a .410 gauge shotgun.

Saucier said investigators went back to the residence later on to arrest Fisher and were told by an unknown female that Fisher wasn’t home. However, investigators found him hiding underneath blankets in his bedroom, Saucier said.

Fisher and Gregg were arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
