Ice on the side provides residents with smiles

An empty slab and a trailer was all it took to inspire Scott Bliss and his wife Tracie to open their own snowball stand on Highway 43 North.

 

Scott said when he bought the house on Highway 43 in 2009, he said the driveway and empty slab inspired him to start the stand.

 

“It kept begging for something to be out there,” Scott said.

 

Scott took an old trailer that he used as a mobile recording studio and transformed it into the snowball stand, Confetti’s Sneaux Balls.

 

“I always wanted to own a snowball stand because it always seemed like a fun, neat thing to do,” Scott said.

 

April 1, 2014 will make their third snowball season since they opened.

 

Confetti’s Sneaux Balls offers over 50 flavors, fluffy ice and hamburgers. Scott said he gets all of his ingredients locally, including the ice, which is from Dixie Ice Inc.

 

“Every one thinks our ice is the fluffiest around,” Scott said.

 

He said their most popular flavors are wedding cake and chocolate, which is homemade.

 

“Our goal is to be consistent with ice and flavors,” Scott said.

 

When report cards come in at the end of the school year, Scott said honor roll students could bring their report card and receive a free snowball.

 

He added that customers are encouraged to use sidewalk chalk provided to decorate the patio and that this summer the stand would be putting a new twist on their stuffed snowballs.

 

“One of the exciting things about working at Confetti’s is meeting people in the community,” Scott said.
