Troop K issued 338 citations during the enforcement period. Troopers issued 217 citations for hazardous reasons, 114 for non-hazardous reasons, and 6 DUI citations.

Troop K made no felony or drug arrests during the holiday enforcement.

Troop K reported that 10 collisions occurred and that 2 of the collisions were alcohol related. Seven injuries from the collisions were also reported.

Poulos said the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign continues until Jan. 2.

“Responsible decisions are required to ensure all of our families traveling on our roadways make it safely to their destinations,” Poulos said.

In total, the Mississippi Highway Patrol issued 3,577 citations and investigated 135 collisions across the state over the four-day period.
