Domestic call leads to arrest

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call of a possible assault that ended in the arrest of a Picayune man for the manufacture of methamphetamine, said Maj. Donnie Saucier.

“On January 28 the department received a 911 call in reference to a possible assault at 258 B Old Creek Road in Picayune,” Saucier said. “Narcotic detectives were out assisting patrol deputies that evening, due to the icy conditions and extreme weather. The narcotic detectives went to assist patrol on the call and upon arrival they noticed an odor consistent with a meth lab.”

Saucier said that while speaking with the occupants, they noticed a camp fuel container sitting in the sink of the kitchen.

“Camp fuel is a known precursor and based on that, they obtained search warrant for residence,” Saucier said.

“The search was conducted once the warrant was obtained and revealed an active lab from bedroom, along with numerous precursors such as salt, lye, lithium, ammonium nitrate, sulfuric acid and camp fuel,” Saucier said. “Michael J. Bullock, 34-years-old, of that address was arrested and charged with possession of precursor chemicals and manufacturing of methamphetamine.”

No charges were pressed in the domestic violence allegation that prompted the 911 call, Saucier said.
