A 17-year-old boy was arrested for aggravated assault after being involved in a fight that occurred near a cellphone store located at 1411 Armand Dr. in Picayune on Nov. 23 at 7:16 p.m.

Picayune Police Chief Bryan Dawsey said the juvenile became involved in a verbal argument with 19-year-old Kenneth Tresch over the suspect’s ex-girlfriend that later turned physical. After the fight turned physical, Tresch was knocked to the pavement, where he hit his head, Dawsey said.

“Tresch was transported by AAA Ambulance to Highland Community Hospital,” Dawsey said.

Upon arrival to Highland, medical staff determined Tresch required further medical assistance and was then airlifted to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Dawsey said the department has not received updates about Tresch’s condition.

Due to the suspect’s age, Dawsey said the juvenile’s identity could not be released.
