Investigators with the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are actively working a fatality that could be more than an accident. Wednesday, investigators were processing a scene where a vehicle was discovered with a deceased person inside, Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said.

The case began when deputies received a call at 12:10 p.m. that day in reference to a possible traffic accident and fatality involving one vehicle. After deputies responded to the scene on Baxterville Road off of Spring Hill Road, investigators found evidence suggesting more than just a single-vehicle accident occurred, Tucker said.

Investigators with the sheriff’s department and MBI are currently investigating the crime scene. Additional details will follow once law enforcement release more information, Tucker said.
