Howard Ray Leggett, Jr. passed away peacefully December 3, 2014 at Dunbar Village where he resided in Bay St. Louis, MS.
He was born May 2, 1938 in Poplarville, MS to Howard Ray Leggett and Edna Earl Mitchell Leggett.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George E. Leggett and brother-in-law, Richard L. Hall.
He is survived by two sisters; Catherine Leggett Hall, and Barbara Leggett Huet and husband, Bob, and sister-in-law, Kay Holmes Leggett; nieces & nephews: Steven Hall (Christy), Robert Huet, Jr. (Terri), Lori Huet Talbot (Bret), David Huet (Robin), Ali Leggett, Bradley Leggett (Erin), Monica Leggett Kraut (Tobias), and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Ray was an inspiration to all who knew him bringing joy and happiness through his love of God, family and friends. Ray shared his love of nature and his uncanny ability to recite poetry, hymns and scripture.
Many thanks to Dunbar Village, Gentiva Hospice, Dr. James Crittenden and especially his Poplarville friends who never forgot him.
Visitation at First Baptist Church, Poplarville, MS Monday, December 8, 2014 beginning at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service conducted by Dr. Tommy Mitchell at 11:00 am. Interment at Poplarville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to First Baptist Church, 203 S. Main Street, Poplarville, MS 39470.
