Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 223, 2011 at 1 p.m. in Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church for John Henry “Leroy” Pittman, 78, of Picayune, who passed away Friday, March 18, 2011 in Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Min. Dub Herring will officiate at the service, assisted by the Rev. Bozzell Langham. Interment will be in the Picayune Cemetery under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Home.

A native of Expose, Miss., he was a retired Detail Manager for Dub Herring Ford, Inc.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Simon Pittman and Sarah Pittman-Murphy; his wife, Lillie Mae Pittman; and a sister, Patricia Ann Pittman.

Mr. Leroy leaves to cherish his lovable memories: one son, Johnny Ray Pittman of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; three daughters, Darrelyn L. Thompson of Picayune, Sylvia (Joe) Cavett of Slidell, La., and Delois D. Pittman of Euless, Texas; three sisters, Ella Mae Lotts of Picayune; Dorothy Reese of New Orleans, La., and Brialla Connerly of Picayune; a special friend, Tasha Woodson; a special brother-in-law, Robert Smith; eleven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
